Ranch Remodel
The client wanted to solve several design issues with their 1970’s ranch home. First they wanted to increase the square footage, separate the kids bedrooms from the master, add a bonus room, and create a master bedroom suite. This was accomplished by adding a second floor over the garage and kitchen area, which allowed two bedrooms and bathroom to be moved to the addition and create a kid's bonus room. The previous kid's room could be used for the large master suite, with a sitting area, spa bathroom, and a walk-in closet.
The other main criteria was to blend the addition into the existing structure. This was accomplished by removing part of the roof to create a dynamic two story living-room
that ties the existing structure into the new addition. The exterior was designed with a modern farm house aesthetic.
